CURRICULUM ORGANISATION
- The RE syllabus has been written to provide progression through a broad and balanced range of experiences rather than purely through attainment.
- It is expected that a reasonable amount of time is made available for RE. The time can be allocated weekly but on occasion school may benefit from teaching RE as part of a concentrated block of time.
- Key Stage 2 approximately 45 minutes a week
- Key Stage 3 approximately 45 minutes a week
- Class teachers are responsible for planning the lessons they deliver with guidance from the RE co-ordinator.
- Lessons are planned using a common planning format (Appendix 1)
- The RE coordinator is responsible for monitoring standards and quality in RE, this is done by evaluating planning.
- Assessment is ongoing and related to planning. and a summative statement forms part of the annual review report to parents.
